Delaware Sikh Gurdwara


With the growth of Punjabi community in Delaware, two Sikh temples have been established over the years.

Sikh Center of Delaware
Located in New Castle, DE Sikh Center of Delaware caters to the spiritual and religious needs of Sikh community in Wilmington, Elsemere, Bear and New Castle cities of the First State.

For 21 years, the community gathered for worship at a small home in Elsemere converted into a Gurdwara.

In 2011, Sikh leaders of the community got together and purchased land in New Castle where the Gurdwara is currently located.

Besides various Sikh services like Asa Di Var, Rehras Sahib and Sukhmani Sahib Paath, the Delaware Sikh Gurdwara also hosts major Punjabi festivals like Baishaki to strengthen the cultural heritage of local Sikh community.

Langar (free community meal) is offered at Delaware Sikh Gurdwara on Sundays.

Gurdwara of Delaware
Located in Middletown, Gurdwara of Delaware offers religious and spiritual support to Punjbai community in Middletown, Delaware City, Townsend, Smyrna, Dover and other towns.

Some of the services offered by Gurdwara of Delware include Akhand Paath, Sahej Paath, Sukhmani Sahib Paath, Anand Kaaraj (Wedding Ceremony), Kirtan at Home and Antim Ardaas Ceremony.

Besides the weekly services, Gurdwara of Delaware also offers Keertan, Paath and Punjabi language classes.
